Igloos in Palmer

Image

Before I moved to Alaska from Colorado in middle school I was asked the same question far too many times. Are you going to live in an igloo? Ah, no. But now I can eat in one. Matanuska Brewing Company in downtown Palmer now as a handful of igloos outside its building for customers to dine in. It’s an enclosed option for those who want the experience of dining out while doing it safely among the COVID-19 pandemic. The igloos feature chairs and tables among faux fireplaces and space heaters with twinkling lights strung around the top. So far, they have been in very high demand. Little Millers for sale?

A random Facebook post caught my attention this afternoon. Little Millers is for sale. It does not take much time in the Valley to figure out where the best ice cream is. Yes, Little Millers. A family camping or fishing trip up the Parks Highway is never complete without a stop for ice cream at the original location in Houston on the way home. Plus there are three other Little Millers spots in the Wasilla area. What could the price tag be for the Mat-Su’s ice cream empire? How about $3.8 million. That’s a lot of ice cream money.
